History of  Carnatic music

Carnatic music has been a trend in SouthIndia since 20BC.Even now,concerts are arranged.

It is believed that the Celestial Carnatic concert was Shiva Tandava.In this concert,Shiva dances to balance the world ,Nandi plays Mridangam,Lakshmi sings,Saraswati plays the Veena ,Vishnu plays the Ghatam,Sapta Rishis put the Talam.It is believed that this form of music originated in The Chola Court in Thanjavur.

 

There have been many great composers who have made Carnatic music very prominent with their melodious tunes.Some of them are Gopalakrishna Bharati,Annamacharya,HemanathaBhagavatar ,etc.

But,the Carnatic music trio cannot be forgotten.They are Thyagaraja,MuthuswamiDikshitar,ShyamaSastrigal.Thyagaraja composed the Pancha ratna kritis.Dikshitar composed Navaratna Krithis and Syamasastri composed Kamakshi krithis.
